Lead Electrical Engineer - Smart Grids

Our client is looking for a visionary Lead Electrical Engineer to spearhead their initiatives in Smart Grids, operating in a fully remote capacity. This senior position involves driving the technical strategy, design, and implementation of advanced grid technologies that enhance grid reliability, efficiency, and integration of distributed energy resources. You will lead a team of engineers, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with global partners to innovate and deploy next-generation grid solutions.

• Define and architect the technical roadmap for smart grid solutions, including SCADA, AMI, and grid optimization technologies.
• Lead the design and development of advanced distribution and transmission systems, focusing on digital integration.
• Manage and mentor a team of electrical engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
• Collaborate with product management, R&D, and external stakeholders to define requirements and drive product development.
• Oversee the technical aspects of pilot projects and full-scale deployments of smart grid technologies.

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems or Smart Grids.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in the electrical utility sector, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of smart grid technologies, grid modernization, and distributed energy resources.
• Proven experience in leading complex engineering projects and managing technical teams.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles in grid applications.
