Our client is seeking a highly skilled Remote Industrial Automation Specialist to design, implement, and maintain automated systems for their manufacturing facilities globally. This fully remote position requires expertise in PLC programming, SCADA systems, and robotics to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention. You will work closely with on-site engineering teams to troubleshoot issues, upgrade existing systems, and integrate new technologies.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced automation professional to drive innovation and efficiency from a remote location, contributing to the modernization of manufacturing processes near Paarl and beyond.
- Design and develop PLC programs for various industrial automation systems.
- Configure and troubleshoot SCADA systems for process monitoring and control.
- Integrate robots and automated machinery into existing production lines.
- Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting for automation equipment and systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define automation requirements and solutions.
- Research and recommend new automation technologies and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial automation, PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), and HMI/SCADA development.
- Strong knowledge of robotics, VFDs, servo motors, and industrial networking.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting complex automation systems remotely.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote setting.
