Reliability Mechanical Engineer

Our client is looking for a diligent Reliability Mechanical Engineer to enhance the operational lifespan and performance of critical assets at their facilities in Polokwane . This role is focused on proactively identifying and mitigating potential equipment failures through advanced analysis and strategic maintenance planning. You will utilize data-driven approaches to improve asset reliability, reduce downtime, and optimize maintenance costs. • Develop and implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies for key mechanical equipment.
• Conduct failure analysis (e.g., root cause analysis - RCA) for equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Utilize predictive maintenance technologies (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography) to monitor equipment health.
• Analyze maintenance data to identify trends, predict failures, and optimize maintenance schedules.
• Develop and maintain equipment databases, including maintenance history and performance metrics.
• Contribute to the design and specification of new equipment to ensure reliability and maintainability.

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on asset reliability.
• Proven experience with RCA methodologies and predictive maintenance techniques.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with industry standards for asset management and reliability.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
