Remote Process Engineer - Optimization and Control

Our client is seeking a skilled Remote Process Engineer to focus on Optimization and Control, supporting operations across various sites, including those near Upington. This role involves leveraging advanced data analytics and process modeling to enhance operational efficiency, product quality, and safety. You will work independently from a remote location, collaborating with plant teams to implement and refine control strategies and process improvements.

• Develop and implement advanced process control (APC) strategies to optimize plant operations.
• Utilize process simulation and modeling software to analyze performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Analyze large datasets to monitor process performance, detect anomalies, and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with site engineers and operators remotely to troubleshoot process issues and implement solutions.
• Design and execute experiments for process characterization and optimization.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including P&IDs and operating manuals.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• 3-7 years of experience in process engineering, with a focus on process control and optimization.
• Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, Uni Sim) and control systems.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB, R).
• Excellent remote communication, problem-solving, and self-management skills.
• Experience in the chemical or related process industry is highly desirable.
