Product Development Engineer - Mechanical

Our client is seeking a dedicated Product Development Engineer with a strong mechanical engineering background to join their fully remote team. This role is crucial for driving the innovation and refinement of new products from concept through to market launch. You will be instrumental in translating customer needs and market opportunities into tangible, high-quality mechanical designs. • Lead the conceptualization and detailed design of mechanical components and assemblies for new products.
• Utilize CAD software and simulation tools to develop, analyze, and optimize designs for performance, cost, and manufacturability.
• Oversee the creation of prototypes, conduct rigorous testing, and analyze results to refine designs.
• Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and specifications.
• Collaborate effectively with remote engineering, marketing, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless product integration.
• Identify and implement innovative design solutions to overcome technical challenges and enhance product features.

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical field.
• Significant experience (5+ years) in product development, with a focus on mechanical systems.
• Expertise in CAD software (e.g., Creo, Solid Works) and experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Deep understanding of materials selection, plastics, and metal fabrication processes.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing design risks.
