As a Senior Mechanical Engineer on our Engineering Services team, you will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a diverse portfolio of capital and expense projects supporting Irving Oil's operations. Your goal will be to provide mechanical engineering expertise that supports the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Canada’s largest oil refinery, as well as our network of terminal facilities across Atlantic Canada and the U.S. eastern seaboard.

** Your Responsibilities:
*** Lead and execute mechanical engineering work on projects from beginning to completion within committed scope, resources, schedule and budget
* Develop engineering deliverables including calculations (e.g. design of below the hook lifting devices, bolted joint analysis, nozzle loads), preparation of material requisitions for pressure vessels, heat transfer equipment, and other mechanical equipment, technical bid analysis, design notes
* Prepare engineering work orders for installation of new equipment, or modifications and repairs of existing
* Review and approve 3rd party documents and drawing while assuring compliance with codes and project requirements
* Supervise and inspect installation modification, and provide construction support and commissioning of engineering systems at construction sites
* Collaborate and build relationships with Irving Oil operating teams, external contacts and experts
* Engage in continuous improvement, and identify ways to optimize systems, and procedures
