Electrical Engineer - Control Systems Design

Our client is looking for a talented Electrical Engineer with a focus on control systems design to join their team in Stellenbosch. This role is central to developing and implementing advanced control solutions for industrial processes and equipment, enhancing operational efficiency and performance. You will work on exciting projects involving automation, instrumentation, and system integration. This hybrid role allows for flexibility, combining remote work for design and documentation with on-site presence for testing, commissioning, and client interaction.

• Design and develop electrical schematics and wiring diagrams for control systems.
• Specify and select control components, including PLCs, sensors, actuators, and variable speed drives.
• Develop and test control software and firmware for various applications.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers and software developers to ensure seamless system integration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and control system issues during commissioning and operation.
• Conduct FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing) for control systems.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in control systems design and implementation.
• Proficiency with PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell Automation) and HMI development.
• Strong understanding of industrial instrumentation, automation, and network protocols.
• Experience with electrical safety standards and hazardous area classifications.
