Marine Equipment Technician

Our client is seeking an experienced Marine Equipment Technician to join their remote support team, focusing on clients in the Richards Bay maritime hub. This role involves providing expert technical assistance, troubleshooting, and remote guidance for the installation and maintenance of specialized marine equipment. You will leverage your deep understanding of maritime systems to diagnose issues, guide on-site personnel through complex procedures, and ensure the optimal performance of vessels and port infrastructure.

• Provide remote expert technical support and troubleshooting for a range of marine propulsion, navigation, and safety systems.

• Analyze diagnostic data and system logs to identify root causes of equipment malfunctions.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and best practice guides for marine equipment.
• Collaborate with manufacturers and the internal engineering team to resolve challenging technical issues.
• Offer advice on preventative maintenance schedules to ensure maximum equipment uptime and reliability.

• Proven experience as a Marine Equipment Technician or in a similar technical role within the maritime industry.
• In-depth knowledge of marine engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and navigation equipment.
• Ability to interpret complex technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions remotely.
• Familiarity with diagnostic software and remote support tools common in the marine sector.
