*** Senior Mechanical Engineer  — Product Lifecycle / Sustaining Engineering (PLE)
**** As a Senior Mechanical Engineer focused on Product Lifecycle Engineering, you will work independently and with cross-functional teams to sustain and improve existing mechanical products, resolve field and manufacturing issues, support new product introductions and cost-reduction efforts. You will partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Product Management, Suppliers and Test, to ensure products remain reliable, compliant, manufacturable, and cost-effective throughout their lifecycle.

* What You Will Do:

*** Lead technical sustaining activities: investigate customer complaints, warranty and field issues, and manufacturing escalations; drive root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actions.
* Manage engineering changes: initiate and execute ECNs in PLM (Windchill preferred), update BOMs/drawings/specs, coordinate reviews and approvals, and monitor ECN FPY to minimize rework and production disruption.
* Maintain product data integrity in PLM and issue-tracking systems (Dev Ops, Jira or equivalent); ensure documentation reflects current design and certification status.
* Support compliance and testing: partner with Quality and Test teams on ORT/qualifications, maintain certification evidence (BHMA, UL, ANSI or applicable standards), and support audit readiness.
* Collaborate with Manufacturing and Suppliers: support PPAP and supplier corrective actions, resolve line issues, enable assembly/process improvements and automation, and qualify alternate components during shortages.
