• Lead the electrical design process for complex projects, from initial concept to detailed engineering and construction support.
• Develop electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and control system architectures.
• Specify electrical equipment, including switch gear, transformers, generators, and cabling, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Conduct load calculations, power distribution studies, and fault current analysis.
• Oversee and guide junior electrical engineers and designers, providing technical mentorship.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (civil, mechanical, software) to ensure integrated project solutions.
• Review contractor submittals and respond to technical queries during the construction phase.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant national and international electrical codes and standards.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Master's degree is a plus.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in electrical design engineering.
• Proven experience in leading electrical design projects, preferably in urban infrastructure or smart city initiatives.
• In-depth knowledge of power distribution systems, lighting design, and low-voltage systems.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP) and electrical design tools.
• Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards (e.g., SANS, IEC).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, essential for remote team management.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively in a remote environment.
