Electrical Engineer - Infrastructure Development

Our client, a prominent infrastructure development firm, is seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer to join their team, supporting projects remotely and contributing to vital infrastructure initiatives across Gauteng, South Africa, including the Soweto region. This role focuses on the planning, design, and implementation of electrical systems for various infrastructure projects, such as road networks, public facilities, and urban development. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles and a keen interest in contributing to the growth and modernization of South Africa's infrastructure.

• Assist in the design and development of electrical infrastructure systems, including street lighting, power supply, and distribution networks.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments for new infrastructure projects.
• Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and tender documentation for electrical components.
• Ensure compliance with relevant national and municipal standards and regulations.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Support the procurement process for electrical equipment and materials.
• Assist in the supervision of electrical installation works on site when required.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to electrical infrastructure.
• Contribute to ensuring the safety and reliability of electrical systems in public infrastructure.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and best practices in infrastructure development.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 0-3 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably with exposure to infrastructure projects.
• Basic understanding of electrical distribution systems, lighting design, and power supply.
• Familiarity with relevant South African standards and municipal requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with AutoCAD or similar design software is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Eagerness to learn and develop expertise in infrastructure engineering.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote team setting.
• Eligible to work in South Africa.
