Remote Chemical Process Safety Engineer

Our client, a global leader in chemical manufacturing, is seeking a highly experienced Chemical Process Safety Engineer to join their dedicated remote team. • Lead and conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, HAZID, and LOPA studies.
• Develop, implement, and maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) systems.
• Perform incident investigations, root cause analyses (RCAs), and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant national and international safety regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA PSM, Seveso Directive).
• Develop and deliver process safety training programs to site personnel.
• Review engineering designs and modifications for safety implications.
• Develop and manage safety metrics and performance indicators.
• Conduct safety audits and assessments of manufacturing facilities remotely.
• Stay abreast of best practices and emerging trends in process safety engineering.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and EHS departments to integrate safety into all aspects of operations.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience specifically in process safety engineering within the chemical or petrochemical industry.
• In-depth knowledge and practical experience with PHA methodologies and PSM elements.
• Strong understanding of chemical processes, equipment, and potential hazards.
• Familiarity with relevant safety codes, standards, and regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Proven ability to work effectively and independently in a fully remote environment.
• Experience with safety software and incident management systems is a plus.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
