Senior Mechanical Estimator – Fast-Track Office Fit-Out (Cat A & Cat
B)
Location:
Barbican – Hybrid (1–2 days in the office, the rest from home)
Salary: £85,000 £ 95,000+ package

The company
Our client is an MEP sub contractor specialising in fast-track Cat A and Cat B office fit-out projects. With a strong pipeline of work and repeat clients, they are looking to add a Senior Mechanical Estimator to their pre-construction team.
The role
You will lead the pricing of mechanical packages on fast-paced office fit-out tenders, from first enquiry through to submission and handover to the delivery team. The role is hybrid, with 1–2 days a week in the office and the rest working from home.
Key responsibilities
* Lead mechanical tenders for Cat A and Cat B office fit-outs, often to tight, fast-track deadlines
* Review drawings, specifications and employer’s requirements, and carry out accurate take-offs and measurement
* Price HVAC, ventilation, heating, chilled water, plumbing and drainage packages
* Issue enquiries to suppliers and subcontractors, then analyse and level returns
* Identify risks, opportunities and value engineering options
* Prepare clear tender submissions, qualifications and clarifications
* Attend tender reviews and post-tender interviews with clients
* Hand successful projects over to the delivery team with a full brief
* Support and mentor junior estimators
About you
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator with an M&E or mechanical contractor
* Strong background in Cat A and Cat B office fit-out work
* Confident delivering accurate pricing to tight, fast-track deadlines
* Good technical knowledge of HVAC and mechanical building services
* Experience with estimating software and strong Excel skills
* Organised, self-motivated and comfortable working remotely as part of a team
* A trade or technical background in mechanical services is an advantage
