Aircraft Performance Analyst

Our client, a prominent aviation consulting firm, is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Aircraft Performance Analyst to join their remote-first team. This critical role involves evaluating and optimizing aircraft performance across various operational scenarios. You will utilize complex data sets, simulation tools, and industry knowledge to provide insights that enhance fuel efficiency, flight planning, and operational safety. This position is fully remote, allowing you to contribute expert analysis from anywhere, supporting our global client base.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong quantitative background, a deep understanding of aerodynamic principles, and proficiency in performance modeling software. • Analyze aircraft performance data, including flight test results, operational data, and manufacturer specifications.
• Develop and refine aircraft performance models to predict fuel burn, range, and climb/descent performance.
• Conduct performance studies for aircraft selection, route planning, and operational optimization.
• Evaluate the impact of environmental factors, aircraft configuration, and payload on performance.
• Generate detailed reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations to clients and internal teams.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and flight planning departments to implement performance improvements.
• Stay current with advancements in aircraft technology, aerodynamics, and performance analysis techniques.
• Utilize specialized software for performance calculation, simulation, and data analysis.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of all performance calculations and data management.
• Provide technical support and expertise on aircraft performance-related inquiries.

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in aircraft performance analysis, aerodynamics, or a related aviation engineering discipline.
• Strong understanding of aircraft flight mechanics, thermodynamics, and aerodynamic principles.
• Proficiency in performance calculation software (e.g., TOPCAT, Jet Plan) and/or developing custom performance models.
• Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Python with scientific libraries like Num Py/Pandas) is essential.
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote work environment.
• Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Familiarity with aircraft systems and operational procedures.
• Experience with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is a plus.
