Senior Structural Draughtsperson

Our client, a prestigious architectural and engineering firm located in
** Sandton, Gauteng**, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Draughtsperson to join their innovative team. This role involves producing detailed structural drawings and models for a variety of building projects, working closely with structural engineers and architects. You will be responsible for translating complex design concepts into accurate and constructible plans. The ideal candidate will possess a strong command of CAD software, a keen eye for detail, and a deep understanding of structural principles.

• Produce detailed structural drawings and 3D models using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit).
• Interpret structural engineers' calculations and design sketches to create precise drawings.
• Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, building codes, and industry standards.
• Coordinate with structural engineers, architects, and other design team members to resolve design discrepancies.
• Prepare drawing registers and manage drawing revisions and distribution.
• Assist in the development of construction details and assemblies.
• Perform quantity take-offs from drawings as required.
• Maintain high standards of drafting quality and accuracy.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in CAD technology and structural drafting practices.
• Support senior engineers with technical documentation and project administration tasks.

• National Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification with a focus on structural design.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Structural Draughtsperson.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (specifically Revit Structure) is essential.
• Experience with 3D modeling and BIM (Building Information Modeling) is required.
• Strong understanding of structural principles, materials (concrete, steel), and construction methods.
• Ability to read and interpret structural engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Knowledge of South African building codes and standards.
