Electrical Service & Maintenance Engineer – Home Based / UK Wide & International Travel – £40-48,000 + Company Car + Overtime

Samuel Frank is recruiting for an Electrical Service & Maintenance Engineer to join an established manufacturer of industrial automation and packaging machinery. This position is suited to an electrically biased, multi-skilled engineer with experience diagnosing faults on automated production equipment who wants to apply those skills across customer sites rather than at one factory.

You can be based anywhere in the UK. The role is highly travel-focused: approximately 95% of your working time will be spent on site, with around 75% of site work in the UK and the balance overseas.

Key aspects of Electrical Service & Maintenance Engineer role
  • Diagnosing electrical, controls and drive-related faults on automated manufacturing and packaging equipment.
  • Servicing, maintaining and testing machinery in FMCG, food and automotive manufacturing environments.
  • Completing preventative maintenance, equipment checks and retrofit upgrades.
  • Confirming machinery is operational before customer handover and providing basic operator and maintenance training.
  • Working independently on customer sites, building relationships and identifying opportunities for spares, improvements and ongoing support.
What we’re looking for

The ideal Electrical Service & Maintenance Engineer will have a strong electrical foundation alongside practical mechanical or mechatronics skills.

  • Experience fault finding on industrial machinery, including electrical controls and drives.
  • A background in electrical maintenance, multi-skilled engineering, industrial automation, packaging machinery or special purpose equipment.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments such as FMCG, food or automotive.
  • The ability to work independently, communicate clearly with customers and represent the business professionally.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to undertake extensive UK and international travel.
Salary and benefits
  • Basic salary of £40-48k.
  • Company car.
  • Overtime paid at 1.3 times the standard rate for hours worked beyond 7.5 per day.
  • Additional earning potential through overtime and travel.
  • Technical development and progression within an international engineering business.

This Electrical Service & Maintenance Engineer vacancy could appeal to an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer or Automation Engineer who enjoys complex fault finding and is ready for a customer-facing service role.

If you are an Electrical Service & Maintenance Engineer with hands-on industrial machinery experience, this is an opportunity to work across varied sites, technologies and manufacturing sectors.
