Remote Process Engineer - Optimization

Our client, a leader in the manufacturing and production sector, is seeking an innovative and analytical Remote Process Engineer to focus on optimization. This fully remote position offers the unique opportunity to drive significant improvements in our client's production processes from your home office. You will be tasked with analyzing complex manufacturing workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and developing strategic solutions to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve product quality.

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes using data-driven approaches to identify areas for improvement, bottlenecks, and waste reduction.
• Design, develop, and implement process optimization strategies, leveraging methodologies like Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and statistical process control (SPC).
• Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for optimized processes.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality assurance, to implement and sustain process improvements.
• Conduct feasibility studies for new technologies and methodologies that could enhance production efficiency.
• Monitor the performance of implemented changes, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and generate detailed reports on process improvements and their impact.
• Provide technical guidance and support to production teams remotely.
• Stay current with industry advancements in process engineering and manufacturing technology.
• Manage process improvement projects from conception through to implementation and validation.
• Ensure all process modifications align with safety, environmental, and quality standards of the company, supporting operations near Paarl, Western Cape or other sites.

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in process engineering, with a strong focus on optimization within the manufacturing or production industry.
• Proven track record of successfully implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency in process simulation software, data analysis tools, and statistical software.
• Exceptional remote communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects effectively in a remote setting.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and supply chain dynamics.
• Experience with project management methodologies is highly desirable.
