We are currently looking for a Substation Project Engineer to join the Lewisville, TX team!

Duties & Responsibilities Employees may perform any or all of the following:

Engineering:
Apply sound knowledge of utility substation designs and standards.

Provide electrical design:
For projects like relay upgrades, breaker additions/upgrades, transformer replacements, RTU installations, and new substations.

Provide physical design:
For projects like bus additions, new equipment installations, and new substations.

Create project deliverables:
Develop scope definitions, estimates, and schedules; collaborate with Project Managers to ensure on-time and on-budget completion.

Prepare specifications:
Develop specifications and material lists.

Oversee drawings:
Manage preparation of review sets and final construction sets.

Handle project closeout:
Oversee as-built revisions.

Project Communication:
Interact with clients, utility personnel, manufacturers’ representatives, and others as needed.

Stay informed:
Keep up with developments in electric utility substation design & construction; suggest improvements.

Serve as lead:
Act as Lead Engineer on assigned projects.

Perform site visits:
Conduct documentation and inspections at job sites as required.

Mentor team:
Train Design Engineers, Designers, and Electrical CAD Technicians.

Additional duties:
As assigned by the Manager of Electrical Engineering or a Senior Protection & Control Engineer.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience Education Bachelor ’s degree in engineering, strong preference for Electrical Required Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in substation design and construction

Professional Engineering License or Professional Certification (desirable).Working knowledge of scheduling software and spreadsheet programs.

Knowledge of applicable engineering codes.
