Senior Process Control Engineer - Manufacturing

Our client, a prominent manufacturing company, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Control Engineer to join their team in
** Port Elizabeth**. This role is critical for the design, implementation, and maintenance of advanced process control systems across their production facilities. • Design, configure, and implement Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for manufacturing processes.
• Develop and optimize advanced control strategies, including PID control, model predictive control (MPC), and fuzzy logic.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with control systems, instrumentation, and automation hardware/software.
• Develop and maintain process control documentation, including P&IDs, logic diagrams, and loop drawings.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to identify areas for improvement in process control.
• Lead projects related to automation upgrades and new control system installations.
• Ensure the reliability and security of control systems and networks.
• Provide training and technical support to plant personnel on process control systems.
• Stay current with emerging technologies in process automation and control.
• Contribute to the development of operational procedures and safety protocols related to automation.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in process control engineering, with a strong focus on manufacturing or chemical industries.
• Proficiency with DCS platforms (e.g., Honeywell Experion, Emerson DeltaV) and PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens).
• Experience with various industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
• Strong understanding of instrumentation, sensors, and actuators.
• Knowledge of advanced control techniques and system modeling.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and team collaboration abilities.
• Experience with project management methodologies is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing remote work with on-site visits to Port Elizabeth.
