Senior Civil Engineer - Site Development & Stormwater Management

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer with extensive experience in site development and stormwater management for a fully remote position. This role will involve leading the design of complex site infrastructure projects, including grading, drainage, utility coordination, and erosion control. You will work with a diverse range of clients and project types, contributing to sustainable development practices.

This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can effectively manage projects from inception to completion while collaborating with remote teams. The ability to leverage digital tools for design, communication, and project management is paramount. • Lead the design of site development projects, including grading plans, erosion and sediment control plans, and utility coordination.
• Develop comprehensive stormwater management plans, including hydraulic design of drainage systems, detention/retention facilities, and culverts.
• Utilize hydraulic modeling software to analyze and design stormwater infrastructure.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Ensure designs comply with local, provincial, and national regulations and best practices.
• Coordinate with architects, surveyors, environmental consultants, and other stakeholders in a remote environment.
• Conduct site feasibility studies and identify potential design challenges.
• Review construction submittals and respond to contractor inquiries.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on site development and stormwater design.
• Manage project timelines and deliverables effectively within a remote work structure.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in civil site development and stormwater management design.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr. Eng. is required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, stormwater modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM), and other relevant design tools.
• Strong understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, and environmental regulations related to site development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective remote collaboration.
• Proven project management skills and the ability to work independently.
• Must possess a reliable internet connection and a suitable home office setup for remote work.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and virtual collaboration tools.
