Lead Industrial Electrical Engineer

Lead the design, specification, and implementation of industrial electrical systems, including power distribution, motor controls, and facility electrical infrastructure. Oversee the integration of automation and control systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS) within manufacturing processes. Develop and maintain electrical schematics, control logic, and system documentation. Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes, safety standards (e.g., OHS Act, SANS), and industry best practices. Manage electrical engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of electrical engineers and technicians. Conduct root cause analysis for electrical failures and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and project management. Evaluate and recommend new electrical technologies to enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety. Oversee electrical system maintenance strategies and predictive maintenance programs.

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in industrial electrical engineering, with a significant portion in a leadership or supervisory role. Proven experience in managing large-scale industrial electrical projects and complex systems. Deep understanding of high-voltage power distribution, motor control centers, VFDs, and industrial automation technologies. Proficiency in electrical CAD software and simulation tools. Strong knowledge of relevant South African electrical standards, safety regulations, and hazardous area classifications.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills for effective remote team management. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, solve complex problems, and make sound technical decisions. Experience with digital transformation initiatives in industrial settings is a plus. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
