Maintenance Technician - Automated Machinery

Our client, a leading industrial services provider, is seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Technician with extensive experience in automated machinery to join their remote operations team. This role will involve providing expert technical support and maintenance services to a diverse range of industrial clients, primarily through remote diagnostics, online support, and guidance for on-site personnel. You will be instrumental in ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of complex automated systems without being physically present on every site.

• Provide remote technical assistance and troubleshooting for automated industrial equipment and systems.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues using remote monitoring tools and diagnostic software.
• Guide on-site client personnel through troubleshooting and repair procedures.
• Develop and maintain remote support documentation, including guides and best practices.
• Monitor equipment performance data and identify potential issues proactively.
• Advise clients on preventative maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
• Analyze failure trends and recommend system improvements to clients.
• Maintain detailed logs of all remote support interactions and resolutions.
• Stay current with advancements in automation technology and remote support methodologies.

• A technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in maintaining and troubleshooting automated industrial machinery.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems (PLCs, HMIs).
• Proficiency in using remote diagnostic tools and software.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical procedures to non-technical staff.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable working in a remote environment and managing your own schedule.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and manuals.
• Experience with industrial networking is a plus.
