About the role

Are you an experienced Senior Engineer looking for your next challenge with a leading UK infrastructure business? At Balfour Beatty, we're looking for a talented Senior Engineer to join our Regional Civils team in Warrington, where you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality civil engineering projects that help shape the UK's infrastructure.

At Balfour Beatty, we bring together talented people, technical expertise and a commitment to excellence to deliver projects that make a real difference. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of engineering activities, work collaboratively with project teams and subcontractors, and help ensure our projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

If you're passionate about engineering, enjoy solving complex technical challenges and want to make an impact on projects from the ground up, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

As a Senior Engineer you will:

  • Lead and coordinating engineering activities to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with the project requirements.
  • Review drawings, specifications and technical information to ensure designs are understood and correctly implemented on site.
  • Manage setting-out, surveying and the provision of accurate engineering information to support construction activities.
  • Coordinate with site management, design teams, subcontractors and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and maintain progress.
  • Monitor quality standards, ensuring inspections and records are completed and any defects or non-conformances are addressed promptly.
Who we're looking for

You will have the following:

  • Significant experience in a site-based engineering role within the civil engineering or construction industry.
  • Previous experience operating at Senior Engineer level, or the capability and ambition to step up into the role.
  • A strong understanding of construction methods, engineering principles, drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience coordinating engineering teams and working closely with site management and subcontractors.
  • A good understanding of health and safety, quality assurance and environmental requirements.
  • Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
