Remote Bioprocess Development Engineer

You will be responsible for designing, executing, and analyzing experiments for the scale-up of biopharmaceutical production processes, including cell culture and microbial fermentation.

• Design and conduct experiments for the development and optimization of cell culture or microbial fermentation processes.
• Scale-up bioprocesses from laboratory bench to pilot scale, ensuring successful technology transfer.
• Analyze experimental data using statistical methods and interpret results to guide process improvements.
• Develop and optimize media formulations and feeding strategies.
• Troubleshoot process deviations and identify root causes.
• Collaborate remotely with upstream and downstream development teams, manufacturing, and analytical groups.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, study protocols, and presentations.
• Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in bioprocess engineering.
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Contribute to the design and implementation of novel bioprocessing strategies.

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in bioprocess development (cell culture or microbial fermentation).
• Proven experience in process scale-up and technology transfer.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., JMP, Minitab) and experimental design (DoE).
• Strong understanding of cell biology, microbial physiology, and bioprocess fundamentals.
• Excellent remote communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Experience with bioreactor operation and control systems.
• Familiarity with analytical techniques used in bioprocess monitoring.
