Job Description

The role of the Piping Designer will be focused on a confidential data center project, utilizing advanced piping design techniques to prepare design and detail layouts. The candidate will provide technical guidance for the pertinent portions of assigned projects, engaging in the design, layout, and checking of deliverables. Efficient utilization of CAD systems, including 3D design tools, is essential.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare design and detail layouts with minimal instruction, following written procedures and guidelines.

+ Provide technical guidance for assigned projects.

+ Design, layout, and check deliverables.

+ Utilize CAD systems, including 3D design tools, efficiently.

+ Monitor design and drafting work of CAD personnel and coordinate with other disciplines as necessary.

+ Interpret and apply applicable codes, standards, procedures, guidelines, and specifications.

+ Provide schedules for work assignments.

+ Prepare calculations to support designs.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in piping design techniques.

+

Experience with CAD and 3D design tools.

+ Proficiency in Revit 3D.

+ Sound understanding of engineering terminology and industry practices.

+ Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, procedures, guidelines, and specifications.

+ Understanding of design and associated design documents for assigned projects.

Skills & Qualifications

+ Comfortable communicating with project and client engineering teams.

+ Ability to lead a design team responsible for project execution.

The position offers a hybrid or remote work schedule, with two days in the office and three days working from home. You will be part of a stable company with over 100 years of history, offering a great team culture and flexible management.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $92.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
