Senior Civil Infrastructure Engineer

Our client, a leading national consultancy focused on urban development and infrastructure, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Infrastructure Engineer . This is a fully remote position, allowing you to leverage your expertise in infrastructure design from the convenience of your home office, while contributing to projects across South Africa. The successful candidate will play a key role in the planning, design, and oversight of critical civil infrastructure projects, including roads, stormwater systems, water and sanitation networks, and bulk earthworks.

You will lead project teams, manage client communications, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, sustainable engineering solutions. • Lead the design and development of comprehensive civil infrastructure projects, including roads, earthworks, drainage, water, and sewer systems.
• Prepare detailed design calculations, drawings, specifications, and tender documents using relevant software.
• Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and impact analyses for new developments.
• Ensure designs comply with national and municipal standards, building regulations, and environmental requirements.
• Manage project life cycles, including scope, budget, schedule, and quality control.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
• Collaborate effectively with clients, multidisciplinary teams, and regulatory authorities.
• Review and approve design submissions and provide construction support as needed.
• Contribute to business development initiatives and client relationship management.

• BEng/BSc or MEng/MSc in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in civil infrastructure design and project management.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and relevant hydraulic/drainage design tools.
• Strong understanding of municipal infrastructure standards and South African National Standards (SANS).
• Demonstrated experience in managing projects from inception to completion.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and deliver high-quality results in a remote setting.
