Senior Electrical Design Engineer The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing team within the building services sector. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level engineer looking for a fully remote position , offering the flexibility to work from home while contributing to a range of exciting projects. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in electrical design and building services, with the technical ability to lead design packages, manage project deliverables and provide high-quality engineering solutions across a variety of building types.

This role is ideally suited to an established professional who can work independently, communicate effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and take ownership of projects from initial concept through to detailed design and delivery.

Key Responsibilities Lead electrical design activities across a range of building services projects. Produce detailed electrical calculations, specifications, technical reports and design documentation. Design electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, small power and fire alarm systems. Manage electrical design packages from concept and feasibility through to detailed design and construction. Ensure all designs comply with relevant British Standards, building regulations and industry requirements.

Coordinate electrical services with mechanical, public health, architectural and structural design teams. Undertake load assessments, cable sizing, voltage drop calculations and other essential electrical calculations. Review drawings, technical submissions and contractor proposals to ensure compliance with design intent. Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and contribute to the development of the wider team.

Manage project deadlines and deliver high-quality design work while working remotely. Requirements Proven experience as a Senior Electrical Design Engineer within building services. Strong technical knowledge of electrical design, particularly on Residential Projects. Experience delivering electrical building services designs from concept through to detailed design and construction. Excellent understanding of relevant British Standards, wiring regulations and building services design practices.

Proficiency with industry-standard design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit and electrical calculation tools. Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently in a remote environment. Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills. Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and engaging directly with clients. A relevant electrical engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience. What's on Offer? Fully remote working – work from home with no routine office attendance required.
