Senior Commissioning Specialist​/Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Commissioning Specialist/Engineer based in the United States.

We are seeking an experienced commissioning professional to support the delivery of efficient, healthy, and high-performing buildings across North America. In this role, you will contribute to projects for both public and private sector clients, ensuring building systems meet project requirements and perform as intended. You will lead commissioning activities from design review and planning through field testing, issue resolution, and final documentation.

Working closely with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams, you will help deliver reliable, sustainable building solutions. The position also offers opportunities to strengthen client relationships, support business development, and contribute to project pursuits. • Manage existing client relationships and contribute to developing new business opportunities.
• Collaborate with marketing teams on project proposals, pursuits, and client presentations.
• Review owner project requirements to establish commissioning objectives and performance expectations.
• Conduct design reviews to assess system functionality, coordination, and alignment with project requirements.
• Develop commissioning specifications, plans, checklists, and functional test procedures.
• Conduct site visits and observe commissioning tests to verify that building systems operate as intended.
• Work with contractors and project teams to identify, investigate, and resolve issues discovered during commissioning.
• Prepare field reports, final commissioning reports, and systems manuals documenting results, findings, and operational information.
• Support the delivery of commissioning services for clients across North America, with a focus on efficient and healthy buildings.

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in commissioning, mechanical or electrical engineering design, testing and balancing, and/or building automation system checkout.
• A commissioning certification or extensive experience in system installation and building automation system programming.
• Strong technical knowledge of building systems, commissioning procedures, and functional testing practices.
• Ability to review design documents, develop commissioning plans, and document findings clearly and accurately.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Client relationship management skills and the ability to contribute to project pursuits and presentations.
• A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is preferred.

• Salary range: $150,000–$170,000, with actual compensation determined by factors such as skills, experience, certifications, and work location.
