Wireless Network Specialist

Our client, a dynamic and growing telecommunications company, is seeking a skilled Wireless Network Specialist to join their team in Richards Bay, Kwa Zulu-Natal. This role is crucial for designing, implementing, and maintaining the company's wireless network infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity and high performance for a diverse range of clients. You will be responsible for troubleshooting wireless network issues, optimizing signal strength and coverage, and implementing new wireless technologies to enhance service delivery.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Wi‑Fi, cellular technologies, and related network protocols, coupled with a passion for delivering exceptional wireless experiences. • Design, configure, and deploy robust wireless networks, including Wi‑Fi access points, controllers, and related infrastructure.
• Monitor wireless network performance, identify and resolve issues related to connectivity, speed, and reliability.
• Conduct site surveys to assess RF characteristics and plan optimal placement of wireless devices.
• Implement and manage network security measures for wireless environments, including WPA2/3 encryption and access control.
• Troubleshoot complex wireless connectivity problems for end-users and enterprise clients.
• Stay updated on the latest wireless technologies, standards (e.g., Wi‑Fi 6/6E), and best practices.
• Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to integrate wireless solutions with existing wired networks.
• Develop and maintain documentation for wireless network configurations, policies, and procedures.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in wireless network engineering and support.
• Strong understanding of wireless networking protocols, standards (IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax), and RF principles.
• Experience with wireless security protocols and best practices.
• Proficiency with network management and monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with various wireless hardware vendors (e.g., Cisco, Aruba, Ubiquiti).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
• Must be based in or willing to travel regularly to Richards Bay, Kwa Zulu-Natal.
