Aircraft Structures Engineer

Our client, a dynamic and growing aviation company, is seeking a talented Aircraft Structures Engineer to join their team in Centurion, Gauteng . This hybrid role combines on-site responsibilities with the flexibility of remote work, offering a balanced approach to modern engineering careers. You will be responsible for the design, analysis, and certification of aircraft primary and secondary structures, ensuring structural integrity, safety, and compliance with stringent aerospace standards.

This position demands a proactive engineer with a strong foundation in stress analysis, material science, and composite structures. Working within a collaborative engineering department, you will contribute to significant projects impacting the performance and safety of aircraft. • Perform structural analysis and design for aircraft components and assemblies using advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software.
• Develop and validate structural test plans and procedures.
• Evaluate and select appropriate materials, including metals and composites, for aircraft structures.
• Interpret and apply aerospace regulations and standards (e.g., FAR Part 23/25, EASA CS-23/25) to design and analysis activities.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and assembly teams to ensure designs are producible and meet quality standards.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and design justifications for certification purposes.
• Identify and propose solutions for structural issues, including fatigue, fracture, and damage tolerance.
• Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and cross-functional team discussions.
• Contribute to the development of design best practices and standard operating procedures.
• Support the engineering team in troubleshooting and resolving structural anomalies during aircraft production and in-service phases.

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft structural design and analysis.
• Proficiency in FEA software such as ANSYS, NASTRAN, or ABAQUS.
• Strong understanding of stress analysis, mechanics of materials, and structural dynamics.
• Experience with composite materials and manufacturing processes in aerospace.
• Knowledge of aerospace materials and their properties (e.g., aluminum alloys, titanium, composites).
• Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Solid Works) for design and modeling.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  
  Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of working within a hybrid team structure.
