Civil Engineer - Structural Design; Remote

• Perform structural analysis and design for buildings, bridges, and other civil infrastructure using advanced software.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, reinforcing schedules, and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other engineering disciplines in a virtual setting.
• Ensure designs comply with the latest South African National Standards (SANS) and relevant building codes.
• Conduct peer reviews of designs prepared by other engineers.
• Respond to site queries and provide technical support during the construction phase, remotely or as required.
• Manage design timelines and contribute to project planning from a remote standpoint.
• Stay updated on new materials, technologies, and design methodologies in structural engineering.
• Prepare design reports and present findings to clients and project teams via virtual platforms.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and design records.

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr. Eng. or C.E.ng.) is highly preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in structural design.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as Revit Structure, ETABS, SAP
  2000, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of concrete, steel, and timber design principles.
• Excellent understanding of South African building codes and relevant standards.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a remote team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective remote collaboration.
• Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) is a significant advantage.
