Our client, a prominent player in the telecommunications industry situated in Durban, Kwa Zulu-Natal , is seeking to appoint a Senior RF Network Optimization Engineer. This critical role focuses on enhancing the performance, capacity, and quality of our client's radio frequency (RF) networks. You will be instrumental in analyzing network data, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to ensure optimal signal coverage and user experience across the region.

- Conduct in-depth analysis of RF network performance data (e.g., KPIs, drive test results) to identify optimization opportunities.
- Develop and implement detailed RF optimization plans to improve coverage, capacity, and quality of service.
- Perform post-optimization analysis to validate improvements and measure against targets.
- Collaborate with network planning and operations teams to address interference, coverage gaps, and capacity issues.
- Tune network parameters and configurations to enhance user experience and reduce dropped call rates.
- Utilize advanced RF planning and optimization tools (e.g., Atoll, Planet).
- Stay current with RF technologies, including 4G LTE and 5G , and their optimization techniques.
- Generate comprehensive reports on network performance and optimization activities.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical expertise on RF-related matters.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience specifically in RF network optimization for mobile networks.
- Proven expertise in RF propagation modeling, antenna theory, and RF planning tools.
- Strong understanding of 2G, 3G, 4G LTE, and 5G and their parameters.
- Experience with RF measurement tools and drive testing analysis.
- Proficiency in scripting for data analysis and automation is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork capabilities.
- Experience working within the South African mobile network landscape is advantageous.
