Process Improvement Engineer - Remote

Our client, a leader in industrial solutions, is actively seeking a skilled and motivated Process Improvement Engineer to join their remote-first team. This position is entirely remote, offering you the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa while contributing to significant enhancements in operational efficiency across our diverse client base. You will be responsible for analyzing existing processes, identifying areas of inefficiency, and developing innovative solutions to optimize workflows, reduce costs, and improve overall productivity.

The ideal candidate is a self-directed problem-solver with a strong command of process improvement methodologies and excellent virtual collaboration skills.

• Analyze complex operational data and processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for cost savings.
• Develop and implement process improvement strategies using Lean, Six Sigma, and other relevant methodologies.
• Design and document new or improved workflows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and best practices.
• Utilize process mapping and simulation tools to visualize and test proposed improvements.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients through virtual communication platforms.
• Monitor the performance of implemented improvements using key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reports.
• Conduct root cause analysis for operational issues and recommend sustainable solutions.
• Facilitate remote workshops and training sessions on process improvement techniques.
• Identify opportunities for automation and technological integration to enhance operational effectiveness.
• Manage multiple process improvement projects concurrently, ensuring timely delivery and successful outcomes.

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in industrial engineering or process improvement roles.
• Demonstrated experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies (certification preferred).
• Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Minitab, Excel) and process modeling tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability in virtual collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fully remote environment.
• Experience in project management and delivering measurable results is essential.
• Familiarity with industry-specific operational challenges is an advantage.
