Operations Improvement Engineer

Our client, a growing force in the industrial manufacturing landscape, is seeking a results-oriented Operations Improvement Engineer for their facility in Klerksdorp, North West . This hybrid role is designed for individuals who can balance focused remote work with essential on-site engagement. You will be tasked with driving significant improvements in operational efficiency, productivity, and cost management across various departments. This position demands a deep understanding of industrial engineering principles, analytical prowess, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational challenges.

• Analyze existing production and operational processes to identify bottlenecks and areas for enhancement.
• Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Design efficient workflows, layouts, and material handling systems.
• Conduct time and motion studies to optimize resource utilization and improve productivity.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and supply chain teams to implement process changes and ensure seamless integration.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and performance dashboards.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and equipment to enhance operational capabilities.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on the effectiveness of implemented improvements.
• Facilitate training sessions for staff on new processes and continuous improvement tools.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and waste elimination throughout the operations.

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial engineering, process improvement, or operations management.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping).
• Proven ability to analyze complex operational data and develop effective solutions.
• Proficiency in process simulation software and CAD tools is an advantage.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, managing responsibilities both remotely and on-site in Klerksdorp .
• Demonstrated experience in project management and leading improvement initiatives.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
