Remote Senior Civil Engineer - Design & Analysis

Our client, a progressive engineering consultancy with a national presence, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer for a fully remote position. This role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa, focusing on the design and analysis of complex civil infrastructure projects. • Lead the structural and civil design for a variety of infrastructure projects, including commercial, industrial, and public works.
• Perform complex engineering calculations, simulations, and analyses to ensure structural integrity and functionality.
• Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports using industry-standard software.
• Collaborate effectively with remote project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines via virtual platforms.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design teams working remotely.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant national building codes, standards, and regulations.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables submitted by team members.
• Participate in virtual project meetings, design reviews, and client presentations.
• Stay current with advancements in civil engineering technologies and remote collaboration tools.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and standards within the firm.

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is required.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant post-graduate experience in civil engineering design and analysis.
• Demonstrated experience in managing design aspects of significant infrastructure projects across various sectors.
• Expertise in structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP
  2000, ETABS, Revit Structure, AutoCAD).
• Proven ability to work independently and manage workload effectively in a remote setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong virtual collaboration capabilities.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Familiarity with South African building codes and engineering standards is essential.
