Eramosa International, Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of market-leading CIMA+ Group, is a specialist firm providing professional consulting engineering services to the Energy, Industrial, and Water/Wastewater sectors. We offer our clients a holistic approach to developing and implementing technology solutions for process control applications to meet their business requirements. About the Role

We’re looking for a Lead Substation Engineer to shape high-voltage substation projects that help keep communities connected across the United States. You’ll lead design work, work directly with clients, and have the opportunity to build and grow your own substation design team as the practice expands. This remote role offers the autonomy to lead meaningful projects from home, with occasional travel to client sites.

This career opportunity is currently available for candidates physically located in Continental United States (permanent work-from-home).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and review of substation design deliverables, including single-line and three-line diagrams, protection and control schemes, cable and raceway drawings, and ductbank drawings.
  • Prepare engineering studies, technical reports, and specifications for related equipment and materials.
  • Review vendor drawings for conformance with project specifications.
  • Provide technical direction to the design team and coordinate with clients and contractors.
  • Apply relevant electrical and construction codes throughout design and delivery.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 8 years of experience developing detailed high-voltage substation designs.
  • A current Professional Engineer (PE) license and the ability to obtain licensure in additional states.
  • A current record with the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES).
  • Experience leading a high-voltage substation design team.
  • Experience using power system analysis software such as ETAP, Easy Power, SKM, or equivalent.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills for working with clients, contractors, and colleagues.
  • The ability to work independently and collaborate with a remote team.
Additional experience that would be an asset
  • Design of low- and medium-voltage electrical systems.
  • Preparation of commissioning procedures and coordination of equipment commissioning.
  • Electrical and site safety training, such as OSHA 10-hour.
Work arrangement

This is a full-time, permanently remote role with company-supplied equipment. Travel to client sites is required as project needs arise. Current target markets include Kansas, California, Tennessee, Florida, Texas, Ohio, Missouri, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, and Illinois. Relocation assistance may be offered to select candidates.
