Industrial Engineer - Productivity & Efficiency Specialist

Our client, a leader in the wine and beverage industry in Stellenbosch, Western Cape , is seeking a highly motivated Industrial Engineer. This role is dedicated to enhancing productivity and efficiency across our client's bottling, production, and logistical operations. The successful candidate will analyze existing processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement data-driven strategies for improvement. Working in a hybrid capacity, you will engage with on-site teams to understand operational challenges and collaborate on solutions, while also dedicating time to analysis and planning remotely or from a home office.

• Analyze manufacturing and operational workflows to identify opportunities for productivity gains.
• Develop and implement lean manufacturing techniques, including 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping.
• Conduct time studies and work-measurement analyses to establish standards and optimize labor utilization.
• Design and implement improvements to material flow, plant layout, and workstation ergonomics.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data to drive informed decision-making.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and logistics teams to implement process changes and ensure buy‑in.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials.
• Lead projects focused on efficiency improvements, cost reduction, and waste elimination.
• Evaluate and recommend new equipment or technology to enhance operational performance.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on the effectiveness of implemented improvements.

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a strong focus on productivity and efficiency improvements.
• Demonstrated experience with lean manufacturing principles and tools.
• Proficiency in data analysis, statistical methods, and process modeling.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
• Experience in the food and beverage or manufacturing sector is highly desirable.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, balancing remote analysis with on‑site collaboration.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies.
• Based within commuting distance of Stellenbosch, Western Cape for required on‑site work.
