Remote Electrical Systems Designer

This role is crucial for designing and optimizing electrical systems for energy storage solutions, microgrids, and smart grid applications. You will be responsible for creating detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and component specifications, ensuring designs are robust, scalable, and cost-effective.

Working remotely, you will collaborate closely with hardware engineers, software developers, and project managers across different time zones. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in power systems design, familiarity with energy storage technologies, and excellent CAD skills. • Design and develop electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and wiring layouts for energy storage systems and microgrids.
• Specify electrical components, including inverters, batteries, switch gear, and protection devices.
• Perform load calculations, power distribution analysis, and short-circuit studies.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant electrical codes, standards (e.g., IEC, NEC), and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams to integrate electrical systems with control and monitoring platforms.
• Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical specifications.
• Troubleshoot electrical design issues and provide technical support during the manufacturing and commissioning phases.
• Research and evaluate new electrical components and technologies to improve system performance and efficiency.
• Contribute to the development of design standards and best practices.
• Work independently and manage project timelines effectively in a remote setting.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical system design, with a focus on power systems, renewable energy, or energy storage.
• Proficiency in electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
• Strong knowledge of power electronics, battery technologies, and grid-tied systems.
• Understanding of relevant industry standards and codes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple design tasks concurrently.
• Familiarity with simulation tools for power systems is a plus.
