Remote Civil Infrastructure Engineer - Urban Development

• Design and plan various civil infrastructure components for urban development projects, including road networks, water, and sanitation systems.
• Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and reports using industry-standard software.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments remotely when possible or direct site investigations.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant South African engineering standards, municipal by-laws, and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, urban planners, architects, and external stakeholders.
• Manage project documentation and maintain effective communication channels for remote collaboration.
• Provide technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle, including construction phases.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documentation and participate in bid evaluations.
• Identify potential project risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and sustainable engineering practices for urban infrastructure.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is required.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in civil infrastructure design, with a focus on urban development.
• Demonstrated experience in designing water, wastewater, stormwater, and road systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and relevant hydraulic/hydrological modeling software.
• Strong understanding of South African municipal engineering standards and development processes.
• Exceptional remote communication, collaboration, and time management skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage project deliverables effectively in a remote setting.
• Experience in managing project phases from concept to construction support.
