Lead Structural Engineer

Our client, a highly respected engineering consultancy, is seeking an experienced Lead Structural Engineer to join their growing team, based in Polokwane, Limpopo

• Lead the structural design and analysis for various construction projects, including commercial, residential, and industrial buildings.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations in compliance with national and international standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior structural engineers and design teams.
• Collaborate effectively with architects, project managers, and other disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Perform quality assurance checks on design deliverables and review construction submissions.
• Manage project schedules and budgets for structural engineering components.
• Conduct site visits for inspections and consultations where necessary (may involve coordination with local representatives).
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and codes relevant to structural engineering.
• Contribute to the development of proposals and client engagement strategies.

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng.) registration with ECSA is essential.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in structural design and project leadership.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAP
  2000, Prokon) and CAD/BIM software (e.g., Revit Structure).
• Deep understanding of relevant building codes and design standards (SANS, Eurocodes).
• Proven experience in leading engineering teams and managing project workflows.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and client liaison skills, particularly in a remote context.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to technical challenges.
