Structural Engineer - Commercial & Residential Buildings

Our client, a renowned architectural and engineering firm, is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Structural Engineer to join their vibrant practice in Centurion, Gauteng . This role is crucial for the design and integrity of a diverse portfolio of projects, ranging from high-rise commercial developments to bespoke residential complexes. You will be responsible for ensuring that all structures are safe, compliant, and aesthetically integrated with architectural designs.

• Perform structural analysis and design for concrete, steel, timber, and masonry structures.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Collaborate closely with architects, mechanical engineers, and other project consultants.
• Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to design specifications.
• Review shop drawings and respond to site queries.
• Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, standards (SANS), and regulations.
• Utilize advanced structural analysis software (e.g., Revit Structure, SAP
  2000, ETABS).
• Manage structural engineering aspects of projects from inception to completion.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior structural engineers and technicians.
• Contribute to the development of innovative structural solutions and building technologies.

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural major.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration with ECSA.
• A minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in structural design.
• Proven experience in designing commercial and residential buildings.
• Proficiency in industry-standard structural design and analysis software.
• Strong understanding of material properties and construction methods.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage project deadlines.
• Experience with façade engineering or seismic design is a plus.
• Deep knowledge of the regulatory landscape governing building construction in Centurion, Gauteng .
