Remote Civil Engineer - Design & Project Coordination

Our client, a dynamic engineering firm specializing in residential and commercial development infrastructure, is looking for a talented Civil Engineer to join their fully remote team. Based anywhere in South Africa, you will contribute to the design and coordination of civil infrastructure projects, including site development, earthworks, and stormwater management. You will work closely with project managers, drafters, and external consultants to ensure project objectives are met efficiently and to the highest standards. • Design and prepare civil engineering plans for site development, including grading, drainage, and utility layouts.
• Perform engineering calculations for earthworks, pavements, and stormwater systems.
• Utilize Civil 3D or similar software for design and drafting.
• Coordinate with project managers and other team members to define project scope and deliverables.
• Review engineering designs and drawings for compliance with local regulations and company standards.
• Prepare technical specifications and construction documentation.
• Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) during the construction phase.
• Assist in site investigation planning and data analysis.
• Maintain accurate project records and documentation for all assigned tasks.
• Engage proactively in virtual team meetings and project discussions to ensure alignment and progress.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Technologist (Pr Tech Eng) registration with ECSA is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering design, preferably in land development.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D is essential.
• Strong understanding of grading, drainage, earthworks, and stormwater management principles.
• Familiarity with South African municipal standards and building codes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, suitable for remote interaction.
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines in a remote work setting.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.
