Remote Electrical Design Engineer

Our client is actively seeking a talented and experienced Remote Electrical Design Engineer to contribute to a variety of groundbreaking projects. This is a fully remote, contract-based position, perfect for an individual who thrives in a flexible work environment and possesses a keen eye for detail in electrical systems design. You will be responsible for developing detailed electrical schematics, component selection, and system layouts for diverse industrial applications.

The role requires strong proficiency in CAD software and a solid understanding of electrical principles and standards. While this role is remote, you will be an integral part of our client’s extended engineering team, collaborating closely with project managers and other engineers to ensure successful project outcomes. Your contributions will be critical to innovation and development, regardless of your physical location.

• Design and create detailed electrical schematics and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical or similar CAD software.
• Select appropriate electrical components, including motors, relays, switches, and power supplies, based on project requirements.
• Develop panel layouts and cable routing designs for electrical control systems.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC, NEC) and safety regulations.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) for procured components.
• Collaborate with project managers and clients to define design requirements and scope.
• Review and approve designs from external vendors or contractors.
• Provide technical support during the fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases of projects.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date design documentation.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design and drafting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, Solid Works Electrical, or similar schematic capture software.
• Strong understanding of electrical control systems, power distribution, and industrial automation components.
• Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and standards.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, essential for remote work.
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines effectively.
