Wireless Network Engineer; 5G Specialization

Our client, a dynamic leader in the telecommunications space, is looking for a skilled Wireless Network Engineer with a specialization in 5G technologies to join their growing team, remotely supporting operations in Pretoria, Gauteng . This position is critical for the design, implementation, and optimization of cutting-edge wireless networks. • Design, deploy, and manage 5G radio access networks (RAN) and core network components.
• Perform site surveys, RF planning, and optimization to ensure optimal network coverage and capacity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve wireless network issues, including performance degradation and connectivity problems.
• Monitor network performance metrics, identify trends, and implement proactive measures to enhance stability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and services into the wireless network.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including configuration details, design diagrams, and operational procedures.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in 5G technology, including new features, standards, and industry trends.
• Conduct testing and validation of new hardware and software releases for wireless network infrastructure.
• Provide technical support and guidance to field technicians and other team members.
• Contribute to the development of network expansion and upgrade strategies.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience in wireless network engineering, with a strong focus on 5G technologies.
• In‑depth knowledge of 5G , LTE, UMTS, and related radio access technologies.
• Experience with RF planning tools, spectrum analysis, and performance monitoring systems.
• Proficiency in configuring and managing wireless network equipment from major vendors.
• Understanding of IP networking, routing protocols, and transport layer technologies.
• Familiarity with network virtualization (NFV) and software-defined networking (SDN) concepts.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities, especially in a remote work environment.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP Wireless, CWNA, or 5G-specific certifications are advantageous.
