Civil Engineer - Municipal and Urban Infrastructure

This role is vital for planning, designing, and implementing essential urban infrastructure projects, including water supply, sanitation, stormwater management, and road networks. • Design and develop municipal infrastructure projects such as water reticulation, sewer networks, and stormwater systems.
• Prepare detailed drawings, calculations, and specifications using CAD software.
• Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies for new developments.
• Ensure compliance with municipal standards, national regulations, and environmental legislation.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, town planners, and architects.
• Assist with the preparation of tender documents and contract administration.
• Provide technical support during the construction phase and site supervision.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure satisfaction.
• Contribute to the development of urban planning and infrastructure master plans.
• Stay informed about new technologies and sustainable practices in municipal engineering.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Professional Technologist Engineer (Pr Tech Eng) registration with ECSA is advantageous.
• Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in municipal or urban infrastructure engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Knowledge of hydraulic modeling software for water and sewer systems.
• Understanding of South African municipal planning and engineering standards.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple project tasks.
• Experience with community engagement or public sector projects is a plus.
