Senior BIM Modeler - Infrastructure Projects

Our client is a prominent engineering consultancy specializing in large-scale infrastructure projects. We are seeking a highly experienced Senior BIM Modeler to join our dynamic team based in Klerksdorp, North West . This contract role requires a dedicated professional to lead the creation and coordination of complex BIM models across various infrastructure disciplines, including civil, structural, and mechanical services. You will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and integration of BIM data throughout the project lifecycle.

This position offers a hybrid working arrangement, combining on-site collaboration with the flexibility of remote work. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of BIM workflows in infrastructure development and a proven ability to manage and deliver high-quality models for challenging projects. • Develop and manage advanced BIM models for diverse infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with project BIM Execution Plans.
• Lead the coordination of BIM models from various disciplines (civil, structural, MEP, etc.), identifying and resolving clashes using Navisworks or similar software.
• Produce detailed 3D models, construction drawings, schedules, and quantity take-offs derived from BIM data.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure design intent and constructability.
• Implement and enforce BIM standards, protocols, and quality control procedures.
• Train and mentor junior BIM modelers and technicians.
• Manage digital project data and ensure seamless information flow among team members.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in BIM technology and its application in infrastructure.
• Contribute to the development of BIM strategies and best practices for the organization.
• Liaise with clients and contractors regarding BIM deliverables and coordination requirements.

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or architectural technology discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in BIM modeling, with a significant focus on infrastructure projects.
• Expert proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
• Proven experience in BIM coordination and clash detection for complex infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering, structural engineering, and MEP systems.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a hybrid team.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience mentoring junior staff.
• Familiarity with South African infrastructure standards and regulations.
• A strong portfolio showcasing successful infrastructure BIM projects.
