Mine Surveyor

Our client is seeking a skilled Mine Surveyor to join their dynamic team in George. This hybrid role involves performing precise surveys for underground and surface mining operations, ensuring accurate spatial data for planning, development, and production. You will work closely with mine engineers and geologists to provide critical geospatial information, utilizing state-of-the-art surveying equipment and software. This position offers a blend of field and office-based work, perfect for a professional who enjoys hands‑on surveying and detailed data analysis within the mining sector.

• Conduct surface and underground surveys to establish control points, measure volumes, and delineate ore bodies.
• Utilize total stations, GPS, laser scanners, and other surveying instruments for accurate data acquisition.
• Process and analyze survey data, creating detailed maps, cross-sections, and 3D models using CAD and specialized mining software.
• Monitor and report on mine development and production progress against planned layouts.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and mine surveying standards.
• Collaborate with mine planning and engineering teams to integrate survey data into operational plans.

• National Diploma or Degree in Mine Surveying or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor , preferably in hard-rock mining.
• Proficiency with surveying software such as AutoCAD, Deswik, or similar.
• Experience with geodetic control, underground traversing, and photogrammetry.
• Valid driver's license and ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong spatial reasoning abilities.
