Civil Design Engineer

Our client is seeking a dedicated Civil Design Engineer to join their innovative engineering team. This fully remote role allows you to contribute to a wide array of civil infrastructure projects, including road design, site development, and stormwater management systems, from the convenience of your home office. You will be responsible for developing detailed designs, calculations, and drawings, ensuring compliance with national and local standards.

• Prepare detailed design plans, calculations, and specifications for various civil engineering projects, including roads, earthworks, and drainage systems.
• Utilize CAD software to produce high-quality engineering drawings and documentation.
• Conduct site analysis and feasibility studies for proposed projects.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant SANS codes, municipal by-laws, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project objectives are met.
• Provide technical support during the construction phase, responding to queries and reviewing contractor submittals remotely.
• Assist in the preparation of project proposals and cost estimates.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in civil engineering design technologies and practices.
• Manage project design tasks and timelines effectively within a remote work structure.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Pr. Eng registration is a strong advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil design engineering.
• Proven experience in designing roads, site development, and/or stormwater management systems.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and other relevant design software.
• Solid understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, and geotechnical principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, suitable for remote interaction.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple design projects concurrently.
• Must have a reliable internet connection and a dedicated home office setup.
