Senior Structural Engineer; Building

Our client, a well-established engineering consultancy with a significant footprint in Limpopo , is looking for a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to strengthen their building design division in Polokwane . This role is central to delivering robust and innovative structural solutions for a variety of building projects, including commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in structural analysis, design, and detailing, coupled with a strong understanding of building codes and construction practices.

• Lead the structural design of buildings and other structures from concept to completion.
• Perform complex structural analysis using advanced software packages.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculation reports.
• Liaise with architects, clients, and contractors to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Conduct site visits for construction monitoring and quality assurance.
• Ensure designs comply with the National Building Regulations, SANS codes, and other relevant standards.
• Mentor and guide junior structural engineers and technicians.
• Review contractor submittals and respond to technical queries.
• Contribute to the business development efforts of the structural engineering department.

• Master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on building design.
• Proven expertise in structural analysis and design software (e.g., ETABS, Revit Structure, SAFE).
• Strong knowledge of various building materials and construction methods.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with projects in the Limpopo province is highly desirable.
