• Develop and design civil infrastructure components, including road alignments, earthworks, drainage systems, and utility services, utilizing CAD and other design software.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and technical specifications for tender and construction purposes.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments using remote sensing data and available information.
• Collaborate effectively with remote project managers, other engineers, and stakeholders via virtual communication platforms.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant South African National Standards (SANS), municipal by-laws, and environmental regulations.
• Review designs prepared by other team members and provide constructive feedback.
• Assist in the preparation of project proposals and cost estimates.
• Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in civil engineering design and remote collaboration tools.
• Manage project tasks and deadlines proactively to ensure timely delivery of design packages.
• Contribute to value engineering efforts and propose innovative design solutions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr. Eng. or Techni-Eng. is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in civil design engineering, with a focus on infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar civil design software is mandatory.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively in a remote setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in virtual team collaboration.
• Strong understanding of South African civil engineering standards and practices.
• Experience in managing project documentation and deliverables remotely.
• A proactive mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Must be based within South Africa, with proximity to Centurion, Gauteng considered an advantage for occasional team meet-ups.
